We won the NSW 2023 Mental Health Matters Award ‘Julie Leitch Leadership through Lived Experience Award’
Mark Robertson – Founder and CEO of One Vision Productions, was the proud winner of the NSW Mental Health Matters, Julie Leitch Leadership through Lived Experience Award, presented by the Minister for Mental Health, Hon Rose Jackson on Friday the 6th of October in Sydney for the MPOWER Program.
MPOWER, an online personal empowerment toolkit for those struggling with their mental health, delivered by One Vision Productions, a Byron-based, youth and mental health charity, is the culmination of 3 years of development to bring innovation and cutting-edge tech to the youth work and mental wellness support programs that OVP run.
“I’m truly honoured to win this award”, said Mark, “coming from the lived experience of being in foster care and on the streets as a young fella has given great insight into developing MPOWER. With an online suite of supporting content and soon-to-launch MPOWER App, this is a game changer for youth in need”, Mark said.
Part of Wayahead – Mental Health Association of NSW’s Mental Health Month for October, the awards recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations who have worked to improve understanding, awareness, service provision and the general mental health of NSW communities.
NSW Minister for Mental Health Rose Jackson said, “As part of Mental Health Month, it’s great to recognise the achievements of so many who work tirelessly to improve the mental health of NSW communities”.
Ambassador for Mental Health Month, Brent Draper, Masterchef 2023 winner and a lived experience advocate, also spoke at the awards sharing his story and personal experience of anxiety.
