What We Delivered

Music for Change combines:

  • Music creation and songwriting

  • Storytelling and cultural learning

  • Multimedia and music video production

  • Mentoring support for higher-needs students

  • Leadership from Elders and Aboriginal Education Officers

Students worked collaboratively to create original songs and music videos that celebrate culture, language, Country, and identity, while building confidence, communication skills, and pride in who they are.

Impact at a Glance

Across all schools, the program demonstrated strong and consistent outcomes:

  • Increased cultural connection and pride

  • Improved confidence and self-worth

  • Higher levels of school engagement

  • Greater optimism about the future

  • Improved literacy and communication confidence

Several schools recorded 100% positive student reflection in key outcome areas including self-worth, cultural connection, and engagement in learning.

Student Voice & Wellbeing

Impact was measured through:

  • Pre- and post-program student surveys

  • Weekly wellbeing check-ins

  • Feedback from teachers, Aboriginal Education Officers, Elders, and families

Teachers consistently reported that for many students, this was the first time they had seen them fully engaged, confident, and willing to be visible in a learning environment.

Community & Cultural Connection

Music for Change was delivered in close partnership with schools, families, and community leaders. Parents and carers reported 100% satisfaction, noting positive changes in confidence, cultural awareness, and enthusiasm for school.

Indigenous employment was a core part of delivery, with Indigenous staff contributing nearly half of all program delivery hours.

Positive Impacts from Lismore's Ngunya Jarjum & One Vision Productions

“Cas brothers tryna live a better life, Switchin’ up yeah, we’re stayin’ outta strife.”

From the streets of Casino to the studio, young voices are rising for change.A new track has just dropped on YouTube — “Cas Brothers – Music for Change” — capturing the raw energy, truth, and hope of young men from Casino who are rewriting their story through music.

Created in partnership with Ngunya Jarjum and One Vision Productions (OVP), the song is a powerful anthem of resilience. It channels real experiences of struggle, brotherhood, and transformation — turning pain into purpose and rhythm into redemption.

:microphone: “Cas brothers tryna live a better life, Switchin’ up yeah, we’re stayin’ outta strife.”

This isn’t just music — it’s youth justice in action and culture in motion. The Cas Brothers are proof that with the right support, creativity can become a new pathway away from trouble and towards opportunity.

Watch. Share. Support. Because when young voices rise, communities heal.

Special thanks to Scott Tanner and Richmond District Police for instigating this project.
